A Parade to Remember
Homecoming this year for me, was completely different than the past homecomings here at Fort Valley State University. This year, I was a participant in FVSU’s parade, which has been the schools tradition for years. I was voted Miss Mass Communications and with this title, I participated in this years coronation and parade. I got up at 6:30 AM to make it to the location that I all homecoming participants had to be by 7:30 AM. The car I rented was a 2010 V6 Blue Mustang. I loved this car to death! My driver was my friend Carla, who loved the car as well.
Present at the parade was FVSU’s President, Dr. Larry Rivers and his wife Mrs. Rivers, Mayor John Stumbo, Peach County High School Marching Band, Macon High School Junior ROTC, Boys and Girls Club, Royal Court Organizations, etc. It was really nice to see my loved ones, people from the Mass Communications Department, personal friends, and Fort Valley community yelling my name as I drove by waving my right hand from side to side. This is a moment that I will never forget and I am so thankful to have experienced this my last year at FVSU!

I enjoyed the parade because this was my first time attending. Last year I slept through the parade, but I told myself I wouldn't this year. It was exciting, but my feet started to hurt from standing up so long, so I sat on the ground. I didn't know the parade would be that long, but I enjoyed every moment. ~K.Y.B~
ReplyDeleteThe parade was Great! I enjoyed all the advertising that was showcased during the parade. It was good to see the community so involved with Fortvalley's events. I especially, loved the little kids, High school band's,and the African dance group. Above all, the parade was a good experience for me and the next homecomming parade I will be in attendance.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I think the parade was a success. L.B, you looked great! The only thing I hated was that I was so many participants and it made the parade super long!
