Bet You didn't Know: Breast Cancer

Believe it or not daily consumption of alcohol is a major risk for breast cancer and Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54. So YES, breast cancer affects us too wildcats and that is why it is very important to perform through monthly breast self-examinations and yearly mammography after the age 40.

Even though over 80 percent of breast lumps are not cancerous it still important to detect it early, according to Tracee Cornforth (at About.com:Women's Health)96 percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk is a 60-mile journey that helps mothers, sisters, spouses, and friends get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. This event will take place Friday Oct 23, 2009 through Sunday Oct 25, 2009 in Atlanta Georgia.

The event benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
