Fireworks Show

When you think of fireworks you may think of Fourth of July, but at The Fort Valley State University we use fireworks in October, to celebrate Homecoming.

This was my first time attending the Fireworks Show in the Valley. My family and friends arrived to the Wildcat Stadium at 10:45pm because the stadium was where the Fireworks Show was being held. We arrived too early(Fireworks Show started at 11pm)and there was only 11 people sitting in the stands, but more people started to arrive at 11:00pm. The Fireworks Show did not start on time because they were waiting on the fire truck to arrive, it was very windy sitting in the stadium waiting for the show to start, but we ignored it by socializing and listening to the music that was being played by the people who were tailgating behind the stadium.

At 11:13pm the fireworks began, the sound from them made your ears pop and the colors that filled the sky were amazing.

The Fireworks Show should be on Sunday because that would be a nice way to end homecoming week, because some people like to go out on the town on Friday night.

  1. I wasn't able to attend the fireworks show this year, but I did see it from my window last year and it was so beautiful! Last years homecoming was the 1st time I believe that they had a fireworks show. Having a fireworks show is a wonderful tradition to now add to FVSU's homecoming for years to come.
