I remember back in 2002, when I was 15 yrs old in the 9th grade and there was news buzz about a man shooting innocent people in Washington, D.C. Maryland, and Virginia. I am not going to lie, but when I went back to school, my classmates and I would discuss the race of the sniper. Everybody thought that the sniper was a white man, since it only seemed that this race was the only one that could take out the time to comment a heinous crime like that and that the police still haven’t caught him for three weeks. When it was reported that the sniper was finally caught and it turned out to be a black man, my classmates and I were really shocked. We could have sworn that it had to be a white man who was doing all this outrageous shooting.
Looking at the news for those three weeks did anger me a lot. This guy is going around these states shooting people, who were doing their regular daily activities to only have their life taken away by this person whose life was full of failures. What a selfish act. It wasn’t until later that Muhammad was going to serve the death penalty. Muhammad’s accomplice John Lee Malvo, said that Muhammad wanted to use the plot to extort $10 million from the government to set up a camp in Canada where homeless children would be trained as terrorists. But Muhammad's ex-wife has said she believes the attacks were a smoke screen for his plan to kill her and regain custody of their three children. Nobody knows the real truth, since Muhammad won’t tell anybody his reasons. The families of the killed victims were ready for the execution day of Muhammad.
Overall, I believe that Muhammad got what he deserved. Just because he was not happy in his life, does not give him the right to hurt people and cause suffering to others. His act was really selfish. I don’t think he’s had any remorse of what he has done, since he didn’t say why he did those shootings. His accomplice, Malvo should have gotten the death penalty as well, but he was a minor, but having life in prison would suffice.

I thought he was white too. But i guess anyone can go around killing people. Clearly this man had some serious issues, but that is no excuse for taking other people lives.
